Are you a pear trying to be an apple?

I believe that if we have seen and can appreciate the magnificence of the innate gifts we have within, we will no longer be able to tolerate work that is not in alignment with these gifts. The key is to be able to both see AND appreciate our gifts. Often, it is difficult to see our gifts because they are so intrinsically a part of us. And the lucky ones that are aware of their gifts or have gotten a glimmer of them can easily undervalue them or even slough them off as being “nothing special,” leaving their gifts unappreciated and underused.

If you have found yourself in a job, career or project in which you are feeling drained, stressed, depleted, depressed or any other not-so-good feelings, chances are you are not using your gifts. When we are using our innate gifts we are energized, fulfilled, nourished and can experience feelings of being on purpose, a deep calm and a sense of coming home. The reason that we feel all these good feelings is because we are in alignment with who we truly are — we are being authentic. If you are a pear tree and are trying to be an apple tree, it is going to feel like an uphill battle. Your energy will be drained.

If you are interested in discovering your innate gifts or would like to understand and appreciate more deeply the gifts you are aware that you have, please contact me. I can guide you through a simple process to help you release tasks and jobs that are unauthentic to you and help you discover and cultivate your gifts so that you can be much more productive, powerful, effective and can contribute in ways that are energizing and fulfilling.
